The risk of developing ovarian cancer appears to be higher among women with endometriosis compared to those without the condition, according to a recent study. The study found that the risk increases by about fourfold in women with endometriosis. This risk varies based on different subtypes of the condition, with severe forms such as deep infiltrating endometriosis and ovarian endometriomas posing a significantly higher risk. However, experts advise that women with endometriosis should not panic as ovarian cancer itself is still rare. They recommend focusing on preventive measures such as exercise, not smoking, and limiting alcohol consumption.
