China markets open higher as investors digest property price data

Asia-Pacific markets saw slight gains on Friday as investors analyzed China property price data. The CSI 300 index opened 0.4% higher, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index increased by 0.7%. Data revealed that sales prices of newly built commercial housing in first-tier cities declined by 0.3% month-over-month in January, with the decline narrowing from the previous month. South Korea’s Kospi rose by 0.8%, and the Kosdaq increased by 0.6%. The S&P/ASX 200 in Australia rose by 0.5%. Japan’s markets were closed for trading for the Emperor’s Birthday holiday.
