Barcelona has announced that defender Lucy Bronze will be leaving the club at the end of her contract this month. The 32-year-old England right-back joined Barcelona in 2022 from Manchester City and has had a successful tenure, winning two Liga F titles and the Champions League twice. Bronze has amassed a total of five Champions League titles, having previously won the tournament three times with Lyon. Barcelona has already seen several other departures and changes this summer, including the appointment of Pere Romeu as the new head coach. Despite the upcoming changes, the club has secured the contract extensions of Alexia Putellas, Patri Guijarro, Mapi Leon, and Marta Torrejon. Goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck has also joined Barcelona from Manchester City on a free transfer. Bronze has made 70 appearances for Barcelona, scoring five goals, and was a key player in their Champions League final victories in 2023 and 2024. The club issued a statement expressing their well-wishes for Bronze’s future endeavors.
