Oakland scored a run against Bryce Miller in the sixth inning. Bryce Miller had just made his debut in major league baseball and had retired his 16 first batters. Tony Kemp then singled off a shoulder high pitch.
Mason Miller, 24, a right-handed pitcher who made his debut in the big leagues on April 19, walked six and struck out four through seven innings of his third start. He threw 54 out of 100 pitches as strikes.
Bryce Miller's wild pitch was the next thing to happen after Kemp's single. Nick Allen then flied out, and Esteury Rodriguez hit a double with an RBI.
