AMC Theatres Unveils Movie Ticket Prices Based on Seat Locations

AMC Theatres will be adding sightlines to the cinema experience. Mega-exhibitor AMC is closely following sporting events, music concerts and other entertainment venues when it comes to setting ticket prices. The strategy includes sightlines for seating selections. You will be able pay different prices depending on how close you are to the screen in the auditorium. This will place seats in Value Sightline and Standard Sightline sections. Value sightline tickets will allow patrons to pay lower prices for front row seats. Preferable sightline seats will be located in the middle section of the auditorium, and will cost slightly more than standard sightline seating. AMC, a mega-exhibitor that has introduced sightline seating in selected markets, believes movie-goers will pay more to get a better view of their favorite Hollywood films, as well as patrons of music and sporting events. AMC's sightline ticketing allows AMC to get closer to the event pricing of live entertainment events such as concerts or sports, where customers pay more for tickets depending on their proximity to the action or musical performances.
